Background Information
The company is formed for the purpose of creating education and Innovation Districts in Australia. Building on Australia’s strengths in education, R&D and innovation, combined with leading Smart City technologies and global capital, the company will create sustainable prosperity for Australia. The company’s vision is to create bespoke precincts in each State and Territory of Australia that leverage, enhance and optimize opportunities for businesses and people to connect on a local and global scale.
The company’s key component is Education. Their general plan is centered around the creation of an inspirational education hub which combines world-class university campuses and education pathways for over 50,000 students, including early learning centers, high schools, vocational institutions and universities. With the help of advanced philosophy and technologies, the company aims to create the first collaborative university campus in Australia which not only unites leading domestic universities, but also unites institutions and major universities in China. The precinct will provide a platform for each university to offer best-of-breed courses through collaboration.
It will also focus on the development of Innovation Districts throughout Australia which integrates pioneering R&D with education and commercialization. The Innovation Districts will concentrate on established fields of research excellence such as biomedical research, cleantech, agri-food sciences, advanced manufacturing and Information & Communications Technologies. They will work with global professional operators of science park to underpin the growth of the Districts.
The commercial center and residential areas are also an important part of the company’s future development.

General Description
The key responsibilities of this position are to promote the company’s projects in China, to manage communications and workshops in China with major universities under the government’s Project 985 and other international universities, developing and maintaining executive relationships with key stakeholders. This role requires an extensive background in project management and business development, with experience and record in research and business projects in national and international levels, involving the cooperation between Chinese Top universities and major innovative technology enterprises within China market. This position will report directly to the company.

Key Selection Criteria
1.         Experience of university employment at faculty or executive administration level and/or MoE.
2.         International engagement and/or business/economic/administration/law degree.
3.         Solid organisational skills.
4.         Excellent client facing and internal communication skills.
5.         Demonstrated experience in, and understanding of, business development and project and program management.
6.         High level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present, influence outcomes, gain commitment and negotiation at a senior level.
7.         Proficiency in English and Mandarin.
8.         Passport that allows for multi-visa travel.

Key Responsibilities
1.         Develop a detailed project plan for effective implementation of the company’s Proposal with targeted Chinese Universities;

2.         Manage the negotiation and implementation of the company’s Proposal which will include:

l  Develop effective business networks.
l  Establish key executive relationships.
l  Maintain key executive relationships and act as point of contact for all direct stakeholders.
l  Develop project scopes and objectives (“Project Plan”) for all stakeholders and amending as required.
l  Report on a weekly basis, or earlier as required, on performance outcomes and amend the Project Plan accordingly.
l  Assess and advise on risk management and risk strategies as relevant to target universities and MoE.
l  Facilitate and manage university workshops.
l  Create and maintain comprehensive project documents.
